Sisters of St. Joseph Consensus Statement

This international, interfaith, and intergenerational household, is, indeed, an oasis for women.  In the context of beauty, security, and peacefulness, it is true that healing, renewal and self-empowerment can occur.    Finding home, supportive relationships, economic and educational opportunity, women do renew their lives and spirits.  Life planning, reaching goals, and the power of women among women across cultures, traditions, and even terrors, make next steps and new hope possible!  Residency at Sarah’s is usually about a year, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on each woman’s need.

An invitation and an opportunity, Sarah’s has also become a short-term oasis for women as well—a place of refuge and relief.  Women come to Sarah’s for days of solitude, and renewal.  They come for weekends of solitude and renewal.  They come for directed retreats.

In the lovely Stephanie Suite, you may have complete solitude for your retreat or join the community of women on occasion.  Arrange to meet your own spiritual director here during your stay, or meet with Margaret L. Kvasnicka, CSJ, a certified spiritual director.  Costs are negotiated when scheduling is done.

The grounds and gardens of Sarah’s are carefully kept, honoring Earth as Source of life and healing.  A chapel/meditation space is available.  The art and ambience of the house reflect our international and interfaith realities.

To arrange a retreat at Sarah's email mlkvasnicka@comcast.net.
