The garden is put to bed for the winter, but we had an amazing growing season! Thanks to the commitment and hard work of many volunteers through the summer, we were able to donate 421 pounds of fresh produce to the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center.
We'll begin planning our 2012 garden in January ... yes, January! Hope you can join us on any of the following dates to plan the garden:
Tuesday, February 21, 7-9pm - Garden planning and yogurt making class at Carondelet Center
Tuesdays, March 20 and April 10, 6:30-8:30pm - seed planting
Weekly gardening begins mid-May from 6-8pm.
The goals of the garden are to learn organic growing methods, to enjoy healthy heirloom produce, to build community with earth and other gardeners, to participate in a local food system, and to share the harvest!
