CSJ Legacy Continues
The Ministry Board sponsored a meeting of the CSJ Network in the spring and fall of 2009. History was made when Presidents, Directors, and Administrators of ministries once founded, sponsored, or operated by the Sisters of St. Joseph gathered at Carondelet Center. Over forty-five persons from schools, hospitals, and social service agencies attended. The focus of the meetings was on the mission and charism of our community.
At the first meeting, a history of the Sisters of St. Joseph and an overview of the last Acts of Chapter were provided. Following the presentation members of small groups discussed how the CSJ mission and charism are being carried out in their individual ministries and suggestions were made as to additional ways this might be done.
At the fall meeting the focus was on charism and a wonderful presentation was made by Mary Ann Brenden, Sister Carolyn Puccio and Sister Linda Taylor on the life and work of Mother St. John Fontbonne. A lively discussion followed. It is so evident that those in attendance are eager to hear more on the topics, and are intent on carrying on the CSJ mission in their ministries. All hoped there would be subsequent meetings, and we plan to gather again in the spring of 2010.
Acts of Chapter 2007
Reporting
All community members, sisters, consociates, St. Joseph Workers, ministries, and associated partners are invited to participate in a collection of data specific to the 2007 Acts of Chapter. This survey is designed to chronicle our collective experiences as they relate to living out the Acts of Chapter in our work and in our lives. In reporting our 2007 Acts of Chapter experiences, we hope to reflect the accomplishments, struggles and hopes of our expansive CSJ Community. The Acts of Chapter Committee thanks you for participating.
