Praying in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament
Silent reflection begins with a prayer - "My Lord
Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that you are here
present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar. I
adore you with the most profound reverence. I unite
my adoration with angels and men and with the homage
you render to your Heavenly Father."
Faith is a precious gift. When we pray in the
presence of the Blessed Sacrament, we testify to our
belief that Jesus is really present here. We take a
few minutes to praise, honor and show our love for
Him. Many times prayer is difficult because of the
distractions of every day living. Praying is very
important in our spiritual lives. We bring to prayer
our love, our weaknesses and our faithfulness to
Jesus. We share our inmost feelings. We talk to
Jesus about His Blessed Mother and how much we love
her. She gave her all. We spend time thanking the
Lord for all His blessings to us. He must get very
tired of hearing all our "gimmie" prayers. It must
please Him very much to hear our love expressed in a
fervent Thank You. Gratitude is a precious gift, and
we need to express thanks whenever it is appropriate.
Many miracles have been given to us through our
prayers.
